Welcome

On behalf of the Board and CEO of The Turks and Caicos Islands Hospital, it is an absolute honor to extend a heartfelt welcome to The Turks and Caicos Islands Hospital’s second Annual Medical Conference. This year, our Academic Committee has devoted efforts to curating a comprehensive array of topics for discussion. Each one is specifically designed to provide attendees with the most up-to-date evidence-based clinical information critical for advancing daily practice for all physicians in both the primary and secondary care realms as it relates to the field of cancer prevention and treatment.

This year we seek to review and discuss challenges experienced by Small Island Developing States (SIDS) in the delivery national cancer prevention programs. Our keynote address and panel discussion will hopefully enable the sharing of regional best practices that can ultimately be translated into impactful programmatic outcomes both locally and regionally.

Our distinguished panel of speakers represents a group of highly accomplished experts who collectively specialize in managing patients across a broad spectrum of clinical oncology. Their expertise spans not only within the Turks and Caicos Islands but also across the wider Caribbean region and on the global stage. We are profoundly confident that the invaluable knowledge they have generously agreed to share at this event will be of immeasurable benefit to all in attendance.

We extend our warmest thanks for joining us this year and offer a heartfelt welcome once again. Your presence and active participation greatly enrich the stature of our conference, and we eagerly anticipate the remarkable exchanges and invaluable learnings to be shared during this gathering.

On behalf of the Board of Directors and the Senior Management Team of the Turks & Caicos Islands Hospital InterHealth Canada, it is with great pleasure that we extend a most cordial and resounding welcome to all distinguished participants of this year’s highly anticipated Annual Medical Conference. As we gather for this momentous occasion, we are deeply attuned to the imperative need to address the compelling challenges and advancements that define the ever-evolving landscape of oncology. The undeniable global impact of cancer, as a significant contributor to mortality, underscores the vital importance of our collective endeavor to remain at the forefront of cutting-edge developments. This prestigious conference stands as a beacon of opportunity, offering a forum of immeasurable value for healthcare professionals and stakeholders. It is within this gathering that we shall engage in thought-provoking discussions, strategically designed to propel our response to the dynamic shifts within the realm of clinical oncology. Through our unwavering commitment to ongoing research, we ardently seek to deepen our comprehension of evidence-based practices while striving to infuse innovative strategies and promote the noble principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion in the noble pursuit of delivering superlative oncology care.
